  1. It does not speak well of one's faith, to whine for respect merely for one's public displays of piety. Keep your faith to yourself and out of our national politics, sir, and I will have no cause to express my disdain for the irrational beliefs that motivate your political agenda. ◄Dave►

  2. And that is not ridiculing at all. I imagine the comment more geared toward the "Oh, you believe in unicorns" response a religion person often gets from atheists. And likewise, in the reverse order: "Oh, so you don't believe in God? How do you have morals?" These arguments get society nowhere.

    I would rather have an intelligent discussion about religion that a silly one. As such, I agree with you on two points: 1) Because you are talking about it intelligently, and 2) When you force religion down people's faces through laws (look at Sharia law for an example), bad, bad things happen.
